Bug Evolution Beginner Guide

Bug Evolution beginner guide for Roblox: how to play, what to eat, the tutorial goals, upgrades and your first evolution, plus mistakes to avoid.

5 min readLast checked Sources

This Bug Evolution beginner guide covers your first session in the Roblox survival game by Corgi Crew: what to eat, how levels and upgrades work, which rewards to claim and how your first evolution plays out. It is not about Insect Evolution, Bug Simulator or Spider Evolution, which are different games, and it has nothing to do with the biology topic of the same name. For the bigger picture, start from the Bug Evolution wiki.

How Bug Evolution works

You start as a tiny spider in a server of up to 15 players. You eat food to grow bigger and stronger, then evolve into more powerful bugs and move on to tougher areas. Other players can attack and eat you, so you are always balancing growth against safety. The Bug Evolution bugs page lists every form that has been confirmed so far.

Bug Evolution beginner guide: your first session

This Bug Evolution beginner guide order follows what the NoobBlox walkthrough shows. Once you finish it, the full list of Bug Evolution guides covers each step in more depth:

  1. Finish the tutorial. The opening stages ask you to reach level 8 first.
  2. Eat big orbs. Larger food orbs give more when eaten, so skip the small ones when a big one is close.
  3. Hunt small insects. Ants and crickets give XP and coins. Killing insects around the map is the main way to level quickly.
  4. Pick an upgrade every level. You choose one option each time you level up. See Bug Evolution upgrades for what the options do.
  5. Claim your rewards. Log in daily for a coin reward, collect playtime rewards the longer you stay, and like the game and join the Corgi Crew group for a little free cash. Check Bug Evolution codes too, though none are confirmed yet.
  6. Evolve. Pick your next bug once the screen lets you. The next section explains how.

You can sprint to cross the map faster, and the controls are shown in the bottom right of your screen. For faster XP and coins, see Bug Evolution level up fast.

Your first evolution

The first choice is Grasshopper or Housefly. The evolve screen shows the stats of each option so you can compare them before you commit. In the video the Housefly needed level 12 and 200 coins, and it can fly, which helps you escape danger. The full breakdown is in Bug Evolution how to evolve. After you evolve you start small again as the new bug and keep levelling.

Staying alive as a small bug

Dying does not reset your progress; you respawn and carry on. Even so, a death costs time, so a few habits help:

  • Keep away from bigger players while you are small. The map shows where the biggest player in the server is.
  • Look at the recommended level on map areas before you walk into them. One zone recommends level 15 and up.
  • Invite players on your server to your team, which makes you safer around others.

The Bug Evolution PvP guide goes deeper on the map, teams and fights.

Beginner mistakes to avoid

  • Chasing tiny orbs while a big one is nearby.
  • Ignoring the daily login and playtime rewards, which are free coins.
  • Wandering into high-level zones before your bug is ready.
  • Picking an evolution without opening the stats screen first.

Bug Evolution beginner guide FAQ

How do I start playing Bug Evolution?

Join the Roblox game, finish the tutorial stages (the first goal is level 8), then eat orbs and small insects to level up and choose an upgrade each level.

What should I eat first in Bug Evolution?

Eat the biggest food orbs you can reach, because they give more, and hunt small insects like ants and crickets for XP and coins.

Do I lose progress when I die?

No. Dying does not reset your progress, so you respawn and carry on, though you lose the time you spent getting there.

Are there free rewards for new players?

Yes: a daily login coin reward, playtime rewards, and a little free cash for liking the game and joining the Corgi Crew group. No codes are confirmed as of October 28, 2026.
